Set up quality gates and the coverage ratchet

Goal: make CI enforce your tier checks and block coverage regressions.

Prerequisites

• CI on your code host
• The risk tag family enabled (classify guide)

Steps

1. Run the setup skill
   • In your assistant: /pair-capability-setup-gates.
   • With /pair-assistant (optional, Claude Code): "set up quality gates and branch protection".
2. Enable tiering
   • In your assistant: set pre-merge tiering to enabled in way-of-working.md.
3. Enable the coverage ratchet
   • In your assistant: set the coverage guardrail to enabled.
4. Add custom gates (optional)
   • In your assistant: add rows to the Custom Gate Registry in way-of-working.md.

Verify

• A test PR shows the tier checks and the required pair-review check.
• Lowering coverage fails the guardrail.
