Install via the Claude Code marketplace

Goal: install pair from the Claude Code marketplace instead of typing CLI commands. pair-cli stays the default path.

Prerequisites

• Claude Code with plugin support
• Node.js 18+ (the skill runs pair-cli for you)

Steps

1. Register the marketplace and install the plugin
   • With /pair-assistant (optional, Claude Code): /plugin marketplace add foomakers/pair, then /plugin install pair@pair.
   • With pair-cli: not needed; the CLI path is the Quickstart.
2. Ask for the install
   • With /pair-assistant (optional, Claude Code): "install pair here". It shows the command, asks, runs it and reports the result; in a repo with its own AGENTS.md it asks keep or overwrite per file.
   • With pair-cli: pair-cli install (add --skip-registries agents to keep your own AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md).
3. Fill in the adoption files
   • In your assistant: /pair-next and follow the suggestion.
   • With /pair-assistant (optional, Claude Code): ask for "a full adoption pass"; it hands off to /pair-process-bootstrap.

Verify

• .pair/ and .claude/skills/ exist in the repository.
• /plugin lists pair@pair as installed.
